Recently, I have been ask many question about pink muhly in Haneul Park. I visited Haneul Park and noticed that they have replaced the pink muhly field to cosmos field this year. They did not state a reason for it. In my opinion, they have replace pink muhly, because pink muhly has been desinated as a "Grade 2 threat to the ecosystem" in Korea in 2019. The reason is that because pink muhly seeds spread easily and bloom quickly, they can disturb other plant ecosystem, especially Korea's native plant ecosystem. After this, many parks, farms, and fields that were famous for pink muhly replaced them to other plants or flowers to prevent the plant ecosystem. I guess this is why Haneul Park did not plant pink muhly but instead planted cosmos this year. Also this is same for Olympic Park. I have not seen any pink muhly lately in Seoul nor heard about places to see pink muhly in Seoul. If you have seen one or know a place in Seoul, let us know in comment. ;)
