✔ Restaurant:
Salted Smoke
This time I'd like to introduce you to sandwiches. If you are visiting Korea, I assume you won't only be eating Korean food. Also, I want to introduce a sandwich shop for foreigners living in Korea. The shop I’ll introduce today is Salted Smoke, a smoked meat sandwich specialty store. They bake, cure, and smoke their meats in-house which made me really excited to try it.
Salted Smoke is located in Yongsan-gu. It’s a 4 minute walk from Exit 2 of Sookdaeibgu Station on Line 4 or a 12 minute walk from Exit 1 of Namyeong Station on Line 1. It stands out in the alley with its store color, orange. The interior is neat with an orange hue.
✔ Menu:
The menu is simple with only three types of sandwiches, but they look appetizing just from the illustrations. They have barbecue sandwich, ranch sandwich and pastrami sandwich. For the sides, they offer fries and sriracha fries. For dessert, they are chocolate cookies and banana milkshake. I wanted to try them all.
Today I was sponsored by Salted Smoke and received two free sandwiches. Thank you.
✔ Food:
Before sandwiches, they serve complimentary water and small cookies.
The first sandwich I tried was Ranch Sandwich filled with smoked chicken ham and plenty of vegetables. It was very fresh and delicious. I love honey mustard, and it paired perfectly with the ranch and sandwich. The herb flavor added a clean taste, and the sandwich was quite large.
Next, I tried their signature Pastrami Sandwich. I was amazed at the first bite. It was incredibly delicious. The visual was so simple that I expected an ordinary taste honestly. But it was fantastic. I think it’s because they smoked the meat themselves in-house. The Sriracha sauce added a slightly spicy kick, and the honey mustard made it exactly to my taste.
There were foreigners eating here when I visited, and I was curious why so many foreigners come to this alley to eat. But after trying these sandwiches, I totally understood.
✔ Overall:
English Menu: No
Waiting level: ●○○
Solo Dining: Available
Our Rating: Must
(Good - "visit if you have time", Great - "you should visit", Must - "YOU MUST VISIT")
Even though it was a sponsored, I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't good. But the taste and the effort put into these sandwiches make it impossible not to recommend.
