✔ Restaurant:
Baekbujang Dak Hanmari (백부장 닭한마리)
Dak hanmari means one chicken. It looks similar to Samgyetang, which is well known, but it’s little different. Baeksuk, boiling a whole chicken with vegetables, dak hanmari, boiling a chicken slices with potatoes and other vegetables, and samgyetang, boiling a whole chicken with ginseng. They look similar, but they're all different. What I'm going to introduce today is dak hanmari.
Baekbujang Dak Hanmari is located around Exit 2 of Jonggak Station.
✔ Menu:
It’s very simple. There is dak hanmari, which is two portions, the rest is an extra toppings, and the last one is a bowl of rice. I order one dak hanmari, which is two servings. If you want to add potato, rice cake, or green onion toppings, order right away because it needs to be boiled together with the main dish. For us, we only had the noodles. The noodles are cooked in the remaining broth after finishing the chicken.
✔ Food:
✔ How to eat:
So you can order it right away or when you finished the chicken. The employee will tell you once the chicken is ready to eat. This place only serves kimchi and sauce on the side. You can dip chicken in the sauce or you can ask for salt. The more the soup gets boiled, it tastes deeper. When you're done with chicken, you can order and add noodles and boil them. The employees added more broth for us because there were only few left.
✔ Overall:
English Menu: No
Waiting level: ●●○
Baekbujang Dak Hanmari is crowded during lunch and dinner time, so you may have to wait a little. The restaurant is a little small, so the space between the tables are narrow.
Solo Dining: Unavailable. The main dish is two servings, so it's not a place for solo travelers.
